The process

How it works

1

Send your model

Upload your file directly or paste a link from MakerWorld, Printables, Thingiverse, Cults3D, Thangs or another website.

2

Tell us what you need

Let us know the quantity, preferred material, preferred colour, when you need it by and whether you require collection or delivery.

3

We review it

We’ll check the model, calculate print time and material usage, and contact you if we spot any potential issues.

4

Receive your quote

We’ll send you the finished size, the print time and a fixed quotation before any printing begins. Once approved and paid, we’ll schedule your job.

Transparent pricing

How we work out your price

No guesswork and no surprises. Every quote is built from the same three things, so you can work out roughly what your job will come to before you even ask.

Machine time

£5 / hour

The printer is tied up for the whole job, so this is usually the largest part of your quote.

Material

£25 / kg

Charged on the actual weight used, and it’s the same rate whichever material you choose — PLA, PLA+, PETG or ABS.

Setup & finishing

£10 flat

Preparing your file, setting up the plate, checking the first layer, then removing supports and tidying the print.

All prices include VAT at 20%.

Worked example

A large vase, about 300mm tall

Roughly the height of a sheet of A4 stood on its end. Printed in PLA, 6 hours on the machine, 200g of material.

Machine time — 6 hours at £5/hour
£30
Material — 200g of PLA
£5
Setup & finishing
£10
Total
£45

Something smaller works the same way. A phone stand takes about an hour and 40g of material, so it comes to £16.

It’s mostly about size

A common surprise is that detail doesn’t really affect the price. An intricate model costs much the same as a plain one of the same size.

What matters is how big it is, because that decides how many hours the printer is running. The plastic itself is usually the smallest part of the bill.

If a quote isn’t what you hoped for, just say. We can often suggest printing it slightly smaller or with a lighter internal fill, which brings both the time and the price down.

Roughly what to expect

Small — fits in your handfrom £15
Medium — up to 150mm£20–£35
Large — 300mm and over£45+

A fixed quotation is always confirmed before any work begins.

Materials

Materials available

PLA

Ideal for decorative models, display pieces and everyday printing.

PLA+

Increased strength and durability compared with standard PLA.

PETG

Suitable for stronger functional parts and improved durability.

ABS

Suitable for parts requiring greater heat resistance and strength.

Not sure which material is best? Choose “I’m not sure – please advise” on the form and we’ll recommend the most suitable option. The price is the same whichever you pick.

Colours

Colour availability is limited and varies depending on the material selected.

If you have a particular colour in mind, enter it on the form and we’ll let you know whether it is currently available. Where an exact match is not available, we may suggest the closest suitable alternative.

Print quality

FDM 3D printing naturally produces visible layer lines, seams and, where supports are required, small support-contact marks. These are normal characteristics of the manufacturing process and are not considered defects.

Prints are supplied directly from the printer. 3DFLO does not provide sanding, filling, painting or cosmetic finishing as part of this service.

Where practical, supports may be removed before collection or dispatch. However, if support removal could risk damaging the model, the print may be supplied with supports still attached for the customer to remove.

Design service

3DFLO does not currently offer a CAD design or 3D modelling service.

Customers must provide either a printable model file or a link to an existing model.

Turnaround times

Turnaround times vary depending on the size of the model, quantity ordered, material selected and our current workload.

An estimated completion date will be provided with your quotation. If you need your order by a particular date, let us know on the form and we’ll tell you straight away whether it’s achievable.

3DFLO 3D Printing Service Terms & Conditions
Tap to read

1. File Ownership and Licensing

By submitting a file or model link, you confirm that you own the design or have the necessary permission or licence to reproduce it. 3DFLO reserves the right to refuse any request that may infringe copyright, trademarks, patents or other intellectual property rights.

2. Model Review and Printability

All submitted files are reviewed before printing. If we believe a model is unsuitable for printing, likely to fail or requires changes, we will contact you before proceeding.

3DFLO reserves the right to refuse any model that cannot reasonably be produced to a satisfactory standard using the equipment, materials or processes available.

3. Quotations and Payment

All quotations are provided without obligation and are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

Printing will only begin once the quotation has been accepted and payment has been received, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Characteristics of FDM 3D Printing

FDM 3D printing naturally produces visible layer lines, seams, minor surface variations and support-contact marks. These are normal characteristics of the process and are not considered faults.

The appearance of a finished print may vary from digital previews, renders or photographs shown on model-sharing websites.

5. Supports and Finishing

Prints are supplied as printed. 3DFLO does not provide sanding, filling, painting, polishing or cosmetic finishing as part of this service.

Where practical, supports may be removed. However, if support removal could risk damaging the model, supports may be left attached for the customer to remove.

6. Dimensional Accuracy

Slight dimensional tolerances are normal in additive manufacturing. Customers must clearly state before accepting the quotation where precise tolerances, moving parts or fit requirements are important.

Minor adjustments may be required by the customer where a printed part is intended to fit another object or component.

7. Functional and Safety-Critical Parts

Customers are responsible for determining whether a printed part is suitable for its intended purpose.

3DFLO accepts no liability for loss, damage or injury caused by the use of printed parts in safety-critical, load-bearing, medical, electrical, automotive, high-temperature or other specialist applications unless suitability has been specifically agreed in writing.

8. Colour and Material Variations

Colour availability is limited and may vary depending on material stock.

Colours may differ slightly from images shown on screen or from previous prints due to screen settings, filament manufacturers, production batches and material availability.

9. Customer-Supplied Files and Links

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the correct file, model version, quantity and specifications are submitted.

3DFLO is not responsible for errors contained within customer-supplied files unless those errors should reasonably have been identified during the initial printability review.

10. Print Failures

3DFLO is responsible for the cost of ordinary print failures occurring during production before the completed item is supplied to the customer.

However, where a failure is caused by a defect, weakness or unsuitable feature within a customer-supplied model, we may contact the customer to discuss alternative settings, orientation or a revised quotation before attempting the print again.

11. Collection and Delivery

Delivery and completion dates are estimates only and may be affected by print duration, equipment availability, material supply or unexpected production issues.

Customers collecting orders should inspect them as soon as reasonably possible and report any concerns promptly.

12. Custom-Made Orders, Cancellations and Returns

As every item is manufactured to the customer’s requested specifications, custom-printed products cannot normally be cancelled once production has started.

Custom-printed products cannot normally be returned unless they are faulty, materially different from the accepted quotation or have been produced incorrectly due to an error by 3DFLO.

This does not affect the customer’s statutory rights.

13. Refusal of Service

3DFLO reserves the right to refuse any request involving unlawful, dangerous, offensive or prohibited items, or any model that may infringe intellectual property rights.

14. Acceptance

By accepting a quotation and placing an order with 3DFLO, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
